Events Calendar Bay Area Regional Meeting - March 6, 2008 The SEC/N membership in the S. F. Bay Area held their second Regional Meeting on March 6, 2008 at “Dave and Busters,” located in Milpitas, CA. This event was held in response to request from the membership to have additional events, and the Board of Directors decision to try a regional meeting format. The theme of the meeting was “Global Trade Challenges and Opportunities in Emerging Markets.” In attendance were most of the Bay Area SEC/N members, and their guests. Most of the non-members felt that the meeting was both informative and enjoyable, and would give consideration to becoming SEC/N members. There were twenty-five (25) people in attendance, counting both members and nonmembers. We were fortunate in having four strong presenters; Nicole Malcolm, Sr. Trade Manager with Novellus; Julie Salcido, Special Agent with the U.S. Office for Export Enforcement; Karl Kailing, International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce; and Don Tran, President and CEO of GES (Global Equipment Services). The combination of the various areas of expertise provided everyone with something of interest. Based on feedback after the meeting, the event was a success and the attendees look forward to the next meeting.
