Events Calendar APEX Conference - February 22 - 24, 2005
SEC/N’s Executive Director, Gary Alexander, had the opportunity to visit with many of the exhibiting companies at the APEX Show. The equipment manufacturers and service providers in the SMT/PCB segment of the electronics industry have historically not been as interested in making a proactive effort towards the future of their secondary equipment market as have their counterparts in the semiconductor segment. However, Mr. Alexander reports that the companies at this year’s Show showed a significant increase in both interest and the possibly of taking a leadership role. Hopefully, the IPC will be willing to co-sponsor a seminar on the secondary market at APEX 2006, much like the seminars that SEC/N and SEMI now co-sponsor at SEMICON Shows around the world. SEC/N will continue to provide information and educational assistance, as well as invite SMT/PCB companies into membership who demonstrate a proactive interest in the future of the secondary equipment market.
